Package Requirements
What a macOS package has to carry before Easy2Patch will send it to Intune, and the limits Intune itself imposes.
Required fields
Package
A .dmg or .pkg file. The type is read from the package; it is not chosen on screen.
Primary bundle ID
Required. The main application bundle Intune looks for on the device.
Primary bundle version
Required. The version Intune compares against when version detection is in use.
Included apps
At least one entry, each with a bundle ID. This list is the detection rule — see Deployment Models.
Minimum supported operating system
Required. Devices below this macOS version are not applicable.
Limits
Package size
8 GB
DMG and PKG
Included apps
500 entries
DMG and PKG
Pre-install / post-install script length
15,360 characters each
PKG only
Minimum supported operating system
The value is stored as the Graph key Intune uses, and offered on screen from newest downwards:
macOS Tahoe 26.0 · macOS Sequoia 15.0 · macOS Sonoma 14.0 · macOS Ventura 13.0 · macOS Monterey 12.0 · macOS Big Sur 11.0 · macOS Catalina 10.15 · macOS Mojave 10.14 · macOS High Sierra 10.13 · macOS Sierra 10.12 · OS X El Capitan 10.11 · OS X Yosemite 10.10 · OS X Mavericks 10.9 · OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 · Mac OS X Lion 10.7
An application created earlier may legitimately carry a value from further back than the picker offers. Existing values are never rewritten to fit the list.
Microsoft's published list and what a live tenant offers do not always agree — the documentation sample lags behind the portal. Compare this list against your own tenant's Requirements screen during rollout and use what the tenant shows.
Intune management agent versions
These are properties of your fleet, not of Easy2Patch. Easy2Patch cannot see the devices and therefore does not enforce them; they are listed so that a failure on an older Mac is recognisable.
Unmanaged PKG applications
2308.006
Pre-install and post-install scripts
2309.007
Architecture
The inspector reports one of Universal, x86_64 or arm64. Anything else is stored as unknown rather than forced into one of the three.
Architecture is informational on macOS. It does not become a requirement rule — macOS applicability is expressed by the minimum supported operating system and nothing else.
